Msgr. Stephen Doktorczyk was ordained a priest in 2005.  He is a canon lawyer and the Vicar General for the Diocese of Orange in California. In this role, he serves as a top deputy for Most Reverend Kevin Vann, Bishop of Orange, overseeing administrative affairs for the Diocese.  In this episode, Msgr. Doktorczyk talks about his background and work in the diocese.

Hello everyone. This is Deacon Steve Greco. High, atop the tower Pope and beautiful Christ Cathedral. And I am beyond comprehension excited beyond comprehension excited because I have someone who even though I haven't stayed really super close to him, I consider him to be a dear friend, and someone who made a gigantic difference in my personal life. And we are honored and blessed to have Monsignor Steven door torch check, who is the vicar general in the Diocese of orange, and his title, actually vicar, general and moderator of the Curia. So, welcome to the show.

Oh, well, you you know, there are no words to describe what a difference that someone can make in your life. And I actually was blessed to know him when he was at St. Joe comes in Costa Mesa, and he was there for me and and, you know, gave me some, some unbelievable guidance, advice and just blessings. And and that's a big part of what a priest does, right?

It is. It is sometimes it ministry. And you do it as a deacon, I'm sure absolutely, and Satan, where your house there and absolutely how much you can learn and help just after Sunday Mass.

Deacon Steve: 2:22

We you know, what it really comes down to is the movement of the Holy Spirit, you know, on this show is called empowered by the Spirit, because we're open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives. And every single day is a day of blessing a day of holiness. And every single day, we just don't know who's going to pop into our lives. That's right, right. Someone could call us up some, someone who may need some encouragement, and I guess more than anything else. And, you know, when we talk about the role of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is so many different things with the fruit of the Spirit, love and joy and peace, patience, kindness, but the Holy Spirit allows encouragement. And right now, you have a huge responsibility. We're going to get into that. But people need to be encouraged. Yes, you know, that they're struggling. Your thoughts on that?

Yes. Well, and I meant I was just thinking, I mean, we're almost at our two year mark of the pandemic, and who thought it would last this long. But yeah, we hear regularly about people, struggling people starting with isolation, depression, your children, maybe not being able to go back to school, you know, in and out.
