Talk Content
There are three elements to the Written Content:
- The Talk Description
- The Talk Content
- The Call to Action
Talk Description:
This should be a simple two sentence summary of your presentation that will appear just below your video and before the main written content.
Talk Content:
Here is your opportunity to bring the message home with a paragraph or two that really helps the viewer understand the key message and what to do. This is most effective when it includes a few Key Takeaways, a Challenge, Action Items, or Tips.
Your Call to Action
Your presentation will be on a dedicated page. This is your space and we encourage you to showcase yourself or your ministry/business.
Following your written content, you will want to include a Call to Action that directs people to your social media or a landing page on your website using a Lead Magnet as an incentive.
The best Call to Actions don’t directly sell but offer something that is hard to say no to. Few people are ever ready to buy on the spot but many will exchange their contact information to get something of interest or value. Your goal should be to have people voluntarily join your email list (or subscribe to your social media, leave feedback, etc.) where you can then nurture a relationship with them over time.
The Call to Action is a short, clear, and direct instruction for your visitor. A Lead Magnet is what your Call to Action points to.
A Lead Magnet is most often a free offer presented in exchange for a visitor's contact information, usually their email. Good Lead Magnet examples include:
- If you have any published material (books, a course, talks) select an excerpt or provide a free digital copy. If you do not self-publish, most publishers will be happy to help make this happen.
- If you provide a service (counseling or coaching, for example) offer a free or discounted trial.
- Create a short (1-5 page) nicely formatted PDF with a simple checklist, a case study, or a “how to” style document. The idea is to showcase what you do by giving attendees succinct, high value content.
Most websites, whether built on WordPress or something like Wix, have simple plugin forms that will collect contact information and then deliver a PDF or other digital content.
We strongly recommend creating a simple Landing Page specifically for this event vs. directing visitors to a home page or Shop page. This page should welcome the events visitors so that when they arrive at it, they are picking up the conversation from the presentation page and Call to Action they just came from. If you’re able to record a short video and include that on the dedicated landing page, that will further increase the chances they take the action you want.
